About the event

How free are you on your mat? Is yoga freely available in your community? Do you have an independent, home practice? How does your yoga practice help you free your body, mind and spirit? And most importantly how does your yoga practice help create freedom and independence in your community for positive transformation?

Yindependence day is a two-fold celebration on independence! The holiday was comemorate the choice to declare our independence from English, and with Yin yoga we can declare our independence from stress, negativity, and all those things that seem to hold us back. Yoga is a practice and philosophy that helps strengthen the body and develop a better relationship with the mind. Instead of living life in fear, yoga teaches you to accept the world as it comes, and make informed decisions before taking action. Yoga taught me how to become a strong, resilient and formitable human being, and that is what I want to help other cultivate.

When you hear the word "yoga", chances you aren't thinking about strength, war, and struggle... but in a lot of ways, that is what yoga is about! Yoga addresses the struggles that most human beings experience. Yoga teaches you not to be afraid, not to lead stress and anxiety control your life. It teaches you to stand up and fight against suffering and have the courage to live the life you truly want to live. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna urges Arjuna to rise up against fear, sadness, and doubt to fight for what is right and good in the world. This story has inspired millions of people to be strong and resilient... to be competent, formitable people.
